Classificação dos Phrasal verbs

Separáveis

Nesse caso, os phrasal verbs necessitam de um objeto entre o verbo e a preposição.

Exemplos:

• My sister is very sad. I will cheer her up with a box of chocolates. (Minha irmã está muito triste. Irei animá-la com uma caixa de chocolates)
• My sister is very sad. I will cheer her up with a box of chocolates.

Inseparáveis (prepositional verbs)

Os phrasal verbs inseparáveis não aceitam complementos entre os verbos e as preposições. 

Exemplos:

• Me and my stepmother have a good relationship. We get along very well. (Minha madrasta e eu temos um bom relacionamento. Nós nos damos muito bem)
• Me and my stepmother have a good relationship. We get along very well.
