Utilização do “Ain’t”

(am not, is not, are not) ou (has not ou have not).

Exemplos:

Your father said you ain’t going nowhere after school. (Seu pai disse que você não vai a lugar nenhum depois da escola)
He mentioned Julia during our conversation. She ain’t travelling nowhere next month, she is staying home. (Ele mencionou a Julia durante a nossa conversa. Ela não vai viajar para lugar nenhum mês que vem, ela ficará em casa)
He ain’t got no right to come into my house and make such a mess. (Ele não tem direito nenhum de vir até a minha casa e fazer tremenda bagunça)

Double negative e advérbios

Exemplos:

She can’t barely stand up. (Ela mal não consegue ficar de pé)
I hardly have no money. (Eu mal não tenho dinheiro)
It wasn’t hardly midday when the police officer arrived (Não era nem meio-dia quando o policial chegou).

Precauções ao utilizar double negative

Exemplos:

She is not unattractive (Ela não é pouco atraente) - She is attractive (Ela é atraente) ou She is not ugly (Ela não é feia) são exemplos de frases mais claras.
His actions were not irresponsible (As ações dele não foram consideradas irresponsáveis):
He was not fearless (Eu não estava sem medo):

I did nothing. - Eu não fiz nada.

• I don’t want nothing. - Eu não quero nada.
